I am very honoured that FISU has chosen Reims to host the 6th World University Championship. Everything has been carried out by the French University Sports Federation (FUSF) of Reims, with the support of the French Federation of Bridge, for this edition remains an extraordinary memory for each of you. Accustomed of large international events, France put all its know-how and the energy of one region, Champagne, into this world championship. France wins two World Championships

It was the first time getting through the elimination stage was not easy. France ended at the 8th rank and was the last team qualified.
It is the first time France won an international championship in senior lady category.

Here is a historical reconstruction with a big procession of kings of France crowned in Reims, a big musical and bright show led by about 1 500 extras in medieval suits.
